Out of Africa

This dress makes me feel like Meryl Streep in the 1985 film, Out of Africa. Made by Orvis, the fly fishing company, this dress may in fact be from 1985, and was decidedly designed for glamorous outdoor lady types. In it, I feel as if I could conquest a safari and the young Robert Redford in one fell khaki swoop.

Check out my new (old) art deco desk for my new (old) pre-art deco downtown office. $80 at Antique World Mall. Amazing.

I wore this the day (yesterday) a seriously fabulous article in the Boise Weekly came out about Story Story Night (and the me behind it). I also wore this the day (Sept. 26) I told a story about an exhausting wilderness/love odyssey (read it on Cheep) for that storytelling program’s theme EARTH: Stories of Reaping What You Sow.

Those are my two times with this dress so far. It is an outfit for adventure. And the journey is the destination. Wear it out.

Outfit breakdown:

Orvis khaki dress: $7.99 (Re-Style)

Accessories breakdown:

Cheetah leather belt: $1.99 (Re-Style)

Gold framed agate necklace: $14 (Antique store in Hyde Park)

Cindy Says heels: sale $60 (Original MSRP: $120, Piece Unique & Shoez)

Retro designer glasses: $60 (Original MSRP $120 with half off coupon, The Frame Joint)

See. I wear the spirit of Africa on my waist.

This agate stone looks like a landscape portrait to me, baroquely framed. Adore.

Green with gold undertones? No, not my skin pallor, my shoes.

From our office hallway. So far, No. We have not seen creepy twin girls who say, "Come play with us." Though this building is rumored to have been a bordello. So...appropriate.
