Wascally Wabbit.
Last week – gloomy donkey. This week – sputtering idiot. Sounds about right.
Today I tip my rabbit fur-lined cap to that much-thwarted doofus, Elmer Fudd. When I was a kid, I always hoped that poor, lisping fool would catch Bugs Bunny – never much cared for cocky, loudmouthed fellows. If you’re out there, Mr. Fudd, take comfort in knowing that someone somewhere managed to catch a rabbit, because my hat is lined with its fantastically cozy fur.
(Interesting side-note: I Googled “wascally wabbit” to make sure I spelled this too familiar catch-phrase correctly, and…..ahem…turns out the wascally wabbit is in fact a rather impressive looking dildo. And here I was just trying to find a childhood memory. That’ll teach me.)
Hat: Cotton, lined with rabbit fur. Purchased on clearance at Mountain Monkey Business in McCall. Jacket: A homemade stunner. Wool, lined in red silk. Purchased at Lux in Boise. Vest: Wool/cashmire blend. From J Crew (judge me if you must). Skirt: Polyblend that deceived me into thinking it was silk. I always read labels now. Gee, thanks a heap for the lesson, Ann Taylor Loft. Boots: ohhhh……these amazing boots. How I love them. Leather, handcrafted in Spain. Made by Frye. You don’t want to know how much I spent on these. Really.
Glasses: Alain Mikli. From Artisan Optitcs in Boise. Earrings/Necklace: Hand-pounded bronze and steel. Made by Hazel Cox, of course! Scarf: Silk. A gift from mom. yay! Bracelet: Copper and leather. Made by Green Man Copperworks, purchased at Idaho Indie Works. Rings: Same elk ivory piece I wear in every post, and a fantastically unique piece – silver, herringbone petrified wood, pearl, citrine – made by Red Stag Jewelry. Purse: Leather and lovely. Given to me by a dear friend. Perfume: Had to include this because it is hands-down my favorite Intentions perfume – Ember. Smells just like crunched up autumn leaves, and I look forward to wearing it every fall.
Gratuitous leg shot. And a reminder that I need to get my boots re-soled.
Just off camera, Kelly Lynae (Monday) is throwing leaves at me. Bethany Walter (Friday) is the genius behind the lens. I am trying to “act natural” as I attempt to keep a straight face and ignore the people walking their dogs through the park and staring at us. It was a good day.
