When I pull clothing items off the thrift store rack, I sometimes like to image who used to own them.

This purple floral blouse made by Pykettes was probably previously owned by a jovial woman named Berta. Maybe she lives in a quaint little abode that is sometimes mistaken for a doll house. Her favorite word is BINGO. However, her favorite game is Scrabble which she plays with her pug Peter. She’s a kind woman but a little dirty. She spends her Saturday mornings fantasizing about the 22 year old milk man.

My pleated skirt is made by Bently (no “e”) and more on the put together serious side.

It was most likely owned by someone named Victoria or possibly Patricia. Whatever her name, after winning the lottery, she purchased a castle and took up the hobby of buying expensive felines and going to cat shows on the weekdays. And since she is rich, she only drinks martinis.

I try to wear mostly thrifted but I still incorporate items I have collected over the years.

These checkered tights are owned by my 16 year old superhero self. She likes to go to Subway with her mask on and freak out the boys behind the counter by calling them by their first names. They have no idea how she knows their names.

Um . . . yeah. I don’t have many photos from that age, just these ones where I’m . . . posing with a construction paper super hero mask. I was a cool kid.

I purchased these Oh Deer! vinyl high heels for a Sex in the City party several years ago. The morning after, I went to the grocery store with my boyfriend and wore these heels with plaid pajama pants and a sweater. I got some mean house wife glares.

I need this hair hat by Nagi Noda to wear with my Oh Deer! heels.

Oh DEER! This post is late! Sorry if you came earlier and found nothing. This designer is exhausted from drawing Tom Sullic fishes.

The End

One year ago, I was fortunate enough to be laid off. It was the confirmation and nudge I needed to reexamine my life’s direction. I had been living a responsible and comfortable life without a strong sense of passion or commitment. I decided the most important thing for me to do next was figure out what I wanted. I made my first commitment to dedicating a whole year of my life to exploring and playing.

Jean jumpsuit: Jeanology, thrift store

I found this jumpsuit in a thrift store brand new with tags still on it. Shame on you whoever didn’t embrace the awesomeness of wearing jean from head to toe.

Vintage scarf: Mia Mama, i.e. I took this from my mom’s closet probably 15 years ago

Today I am scared to say that I know what I want. I say scared because once you know what you want it is difficult to settle for anything less. There are two options in life 1) play it safe or 2) go after your dreams.

Might as well tell all of you what I want since we are all close friends right? I want to be independent, keep building this blog with my friends, grow as a fashion/editorial/fine art photographer, and travel. To fuel this dream, I want to continue designing for local businesses, because hey I’m good at it and I love helping other people grow their businesses and their passions. You might even see me around town working a part time job.

Can I get an amen?

The photographer Kelly loves this image for its religious implications.

Cha cha cha
From front, to side, to back, I love me a good jumpsuit.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.

My concept of the ideal woman is part of what spurred my inspiration to create this blog. I wanted to surround myself and collaborate with women I admire and show support for each other.
